The exhibition showcased paintings, drawings, sculptures, and installations related to the last six years’ research into the origins of Tarantella dance and music. The content of the exhibition ranges from factual to interpretive to poetic renderings of this vast subject. This exhibition was not only a stand alone event but a way to prepare the audience for the associated performance.

For the last year, Nathaniel A. Bolton has attended rehearsals weekly, documenting and interpreting the process of creation of all the elements of the production.

In this way he has built a body of work which bridges the inner world of his imagination with the outer world of ensemble building and choreographic process. |

Pinaree Santipak's collaboration with the Artship 2003.
After conversations with Artship' curator Slobodan dan Paich Pinaree decided to create "vessels", a series of molded forms made from cast brass with gold-leaf inlay, 120 cm in diameter, height 40 cms, weight 58kg. Image on the left is of members of Artship Dance/Theater performing ritual celebration of the vessels at Pier 40 San Francisco. |

Igor Ivan Sapic was the artist-in-residence at Artship in 2001. During his multi-month residency he engaged in personal work and development of his project "Message in the bottle". He engaged in the devlopement in a number of programs at the Artship and held a community-wide participatory project related to his principal investigation. |
